West Dean’s Totally Tomato show is not only a foodie’s heaven but the search is also on for the tastiest tomato and, NEW for 2010, the heaviest tomato! In addition to event entry, show visitors can make full use of the Parkland walk, a circular walk encompassing stunning landscapes and specimen trees in and around St Roche’s arboretum. A great day out for anyone interested in food! The Kings Arms, Fernhurst ,West Sussex is of course very near and also well known for its great food. Why not visit Petworth Park this summer
The vast late 17th-century mansion is set in a beautiful 283-hectare (700-acre) deer park, landscaped by ‘Capability’ Brown and immortalised in Turner’s paintings. Have Your Wedding Services & Your Wedding Reception at the Kings Arms, In W. Sussex
I’ve just started with these guys, helping the Kings Arms with their Country Inn Diary… and I found this article about wedding services at the Kings Arms (in the beautiful wedding venue). I presume that it means that Chichester were going to start to license pubs in W.Sussex for civil wedding services – ut I need to check where we at The Kings Arms are with any application.

A Kings Arms B&B Mini-break With Her Indoors…
It’s too cold at the moment! What’s worse is that each evening, when I’m done working I find it’s a bit too late to start to light the fire and snuggle up. So what’s the solution? I think it’s to book a room at The Kings Arms, go and have a good dinner and sit by the fire in the bar. Then off to a beautiful room with the crisp white linen they promise (I have not tested it yet) and a hot bath followed by a good read in bed.
I know that some of you may wonder at the waste of a good double bed to read in! But I hadn’t finished. And I’m not going to tell you lot about it! (fade to black….)
So in the morning a good cooked breakfast – included and home for another day’s work.

New Kings Arms Proprietors ~ Peter & Kate ~Settling In…
I will have to return with some more details but I know that there are two new faces in charge – Peter & Kate – at The Kings Arms pub/inn/hotel/venue… call it what you will - including a wonderful West Sussex B&B! That’s good news for Fernhurst and all the surrounding towns and villages (Midhurst, Easebourne, Haslemere, Shottermill and many others).
What I do know is that these good people ran the Wykham Arms in Winchester at it’s very peak. Peter’s motto is that the “customer is all”. Their aim at The Kings Arms is to build a sound business around excellent customer service.
I will return on this when I have some details and possibly some pictures… Just thought that I’d let you know in the meantime.

The Kings Arms Wedding Venue Proving Very Popular In West Sussex (or Is It Surrey?)
Since the wedding fair at The Kings Arms last month, wedding coordinater Una tells me that bookings for wedding receptions & dinners are on the up – which is great news. It doesn’t meant that it’s fully booked though so there’s still time for you to choose your perfect wedding venue for 2010 yet! But don’t wait too long…

Where Is The Kings Arms Crisis! Which County…Help!
Surrey Or Sussex
Now as soon as I do this some clever clogs will correct me and sort this out… but at the moment Una (The Kings Arms wedding co-ordinator) and I are mightily confused!
Una has just had her “Wedding Organiser” business cards printed and they say that Fernhurst is in Surrey. The Kings Arms website says it’s in W.Sussex!
So I went onto the internet to look up other places in Fernhurst to see if they are in Surrey or W. Sussex. Guess what - they don’t know either! The best one is the village school where the top of the page says the address in Surrey and at the bottom of the page for contact, the address says West Sussex. Goolge maps says Surrey and the Fernhurst Village website says W. Sussex near the orders of Hampshire & Surrey.
It does seem to depend on the full address maybe, because when Haslemere is mentioned, the address seems to become Surrey and when it’s not it seems to be West Sussex. As The Kings Arms is south f the village by a few hundred yards, maybe that’s why generally it’s Sussex. One pub to the north says Surrey and one to the south avounds the situation by just putting the post code!
